Hyderabad, October 12, 2006

The proposed strike by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) employees was called off as there was an understanding between the Management and the recognized union after a prolonged talks held by the Minister for Transport Kanna Lakshminarayana on Thursday. According to the understanding, there will a hike of 12 per cent in pay scales to the 1.17 lakh employees with effect from April 1, 2005. The General Secretary of National Mazdoor Union Syed Mohammad expressed satisfaction and said that they were withdrawing the proposed strike notice served on the management.
