TDP says Congress is committing constitution fraud

Stages demonstration outside Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad, October 11, 2006

President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Nara Chandrababu Naidu accused the Congress Party of making fraud at the Constituency by playing a role in the grant of pardon to Gouru Venkat Reddy. He demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He demanded that the then District Collector and Superindent of Police of Kurnool be suspended for preparing a report that influenced the decision being taken by the then Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sushil Kumar Shinde.

TDP Party supporters have raised slogans and began demonstration outside the Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor of the state. They tried to burn the effigy of the Governor and the Chief Minister but the Police tried to prevent them. Traffic on the busy road was interrupted for a while as cars make a beeline.
