Anonymous letter alerts Airport officials
Hyderabad, November 9, 2006
Security at the Begumpet Airport is further enhanced in the wake of an anonymous letter received at Trichy Airport about a possible attack by the Al-Queda outfit on South Indian Airports.
The Director of the Hyderabad Airport, RK Singla speaking to media persons said that they have been informed about the threat and are taking all necessary precautions. However, no additional force has been deployed.
He said that the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are guarding the airport and are asked to intensify the checking of all passengers and baggages.
