Government seeks Rs.1,475 crore relief
Hyderabad, November 6, 2006
The State Government would seek Central Assistance of Rs.1475 crores assistance to survive the severe damage caused due to heavy rains in the coastal districts. According to official sources, the Chief Minister along with the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patel will conduct an aerial survey in the affected areas. A memorandum to seek the assistance will be submitted to the Union Home Minister.
The Chief Minister had directed the civil supplies department to purchase discolored paddy in the areas which ere badly hit by the floods. He said water will be released to the Krishna delta from Nagarjunasagar during the rabi season.
