High level co-ordination meeting begins at Rail Nilayam

Hyderabad, November 6, 2006

Inaugurating a high level coordination meeting between Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) held at Rail Nilayam on Monday, the South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager DN Mathur said that the surveillance system would be extended to all important stations in the South Central Railway.

He praised the performance of the security department of the zone and sought the active cooperation of the Government Railway Police to give teeth to the RPF personnel who have been entrusted with certain additional duties in tackling crimes relating to theft of passengers belongings. He said that he was happy that the Intelligence Security Wing of AP Police imparted training to 150 RPF personnel while another 200 personnel were trained in investigative methods at the AP Police Academy. SCR Chief Security Commissioner Kamal Kumar elaborated the measures taken to tackle any situation. Top officials of both from Railways and Government were present on the occasion.
