Agreement on Wage revision
Hyderabad, November 5, 2006
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) on Sunday signed an agreement reached with the recognized union National Mazdoor Union on the issue of wage revision. The agreement which would be implemented from April 1, 2005 will burden the Corporation to the extent of Rs.158 crores and an additional Rs.10 crore towards allowances. The hike will be to the extent of 12 percent over the present wages. The new scales will be implemented from January 2007 and the arrears would be paid in three instalments in the next financial year.
At a joint press conference after signing the agreement, the APSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director V. Dinesh Reddy, NMU leaders said that the employees have assured to improve the occupancy ratio for which the management has announced performance linked bonus. The NMU leaders said that they will soon hold State level meeting to discuss the ways and means to improve the occupancy ratio also other issues to protect the Corporation.
