International Convention Centre was abuzz with activity

Hyderabad, November 3, 2006

Bancon-2006 was inaugurated on Friday by the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram. The venue, International Convention Centre was abuzz with activity as the chief executive officers, Chairmen and managing Directors of majority of public and private sector banks swarmed the premises.

The Union Minister asked the bankers to concentrate on reaching out to the vast majority of people who have no access to banking services and their benefits. While asking the banks to expand their reach, he took a swipe at the trade unionism in the banks that my turnout as an impediment in their performances.
