Says election code prevents him to take immediate steps with centre
Hyderabad, November 29, 2006The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had at his camp office on Wednesday had interacted with nearly 30 beedi workers from Sircilla and explained their woes before leaving for Karimnagar for the two day election campaign. He discussed the adverse impact the printing of the health warning on beedi packs would have on their livelihoods.
The Congress would not allow it to happen and he said displaying the written assurance of the AICC. He told them that the TDP and BJP were responsible for the crisis by introducing a Bill in the Parliament and equally TRS president responsible who allowed the notification to be issued when he was Minister for Labour. Though he had alerted the Centre to take immediate steps, the election code prevented it, he said and promised them of positive action.
