Procedural lapses on the part of jail staff

Sakhi 'killer' Salahuddin escaped from Cherlapally prison by sliding down a 46 ft. high unmanned tower using torn blanket pieces early on Friday even as armed guards posted top two adjacent posted watched aghast. However, his accomplice Chandrasekhar Gupta was trapped in mid air when the rope snapped. As he clung on to save his life with the help of bars of the tower, firemen were summoned and rescued him and later taken him into custody.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Prisons RP Singh told to the media that there are clear procedural lapses on the part of the jail staff and APSP guards and an enquiry is on.
