Mystery behind the accident to be ascertained
Hyderabad, November 20, 2006A major fire broke out in a garment showroom situated in the busy Abids on Monday even as the mystery shrouded the accident. In the accident no one was injured as the show room was closed for the past ten month due to a dispute between the owner of the garment showroom and the bank officials. The fire was noticed on the first floor of the three storied building in the evening and subsequently spread over to other floors. The cause of the accident was yet to be ascertained.
Police officials suspected foul play as there was no power supply to the showroom after its shutters were down leaving no scope for short circuit. The police cordoned off the area from Abids to Nampally to pave way for fire tenders. Twelve fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took them for four hours to bring the flames into control. An ATM centre of ICICI bank and a franschise of a mobile company were located in the building. However, no damage was done.
Fire services Director General Alok Srivastava said that he cannot say any thing at this point of time. Meanwhile, the owner of the garments showroom Hemant Salva claimed it as the handy work of his rivals.
