State Government to float Aarogyasri Health Care Trust
Hyderabad, November 19, 2006The State Government is all set to launch medical insurance scheme covering nearly 1.76 crore blow poverty line on January 14, 2007.
The scheme is likely to be finalized in the third week of December. The scheme will bring a sea of change in providing heath care to the people. The premium per annum for each individual will be Rs.100 and for family is Rs.300. The Government would provide fifty percent subsidy of the premium. According to the scheme, if a person pays the premium, he would be eligible for free treatment in the networked private hospitals or government hospitals.
The insurance companies will reimburse upto Rs.2 lakhs and the balance will be borne by the respective hospitals. The State Government will float Aarogyasri Health Care Trust in which self help groups and workmen organizations will be involved.
