Nandi Awards for 2005 announced

Mahesh Babu bags best leading actor while Trisha best leading actress

The Nandi Awards for 2005 were announced on Saturday by the Nandi Film Awards Committee chairman and film producer P. Doondeswara Rao.

Best leading actor award - Mahesh Babu (Athadu)
Best leading actress award - Trisha (Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantaana)
Best supporting Actor - Srihari (Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantaana)
Best supporting Actress - Bhanupriya (Chatrapathi)
Best Character Actor - Chandra Mohan (Athanokkade)
Best Comedian award - Sunil (Andhrudu)
Best Comedian Actress award - Santoshini (Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantaana)
Best Villain award - Dr.Siva Prasad (Danger)
Golden Nandi Award - Pote Pone
Silver Nandi Award - Anukokunda Oka Roju
Bronze Nandi Award - Goutam SSC

The chairman of the Nandi Awards Committee said that 57 entries, 33 entries were received for the feature film category while there were only two entries for awards feature films on national integration and both failed to impress the 14 member award committee. In all, there were 57 entries for the seven categories.
