TD chief quizzed for over five hours on Kuppam project

Hyderabad, November 10, 2006

Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday faced a marathon session of queries lasting five and half hours by the Justice THB Chalapathi Commission inquiring into his one time pet Kuppam agricultural project based on Israeli technology.

The TDP president declined to divulge the details of his deposition to the media and said that he will reveal at an appropriate time. Justice Chalapati speaking to media said that he would submit his report by the end of the year. He said that Chandrababu Naidu has volunteered himself to stay on and finish it off in one go. He would not be asked to come again.

Meanwhile party supporters gathered outside the commission venue and began raising slogans against this treatment. Some section of the party members says that this quizzing session is a part of the plans by the ruling party while Naidu refused to comment on it.
