L. Ramana picked as TDP candidate
Hyderabad, November 1, 2006
At a press conference held on Wednesday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the Polit bureau had unanimously decided to field L. Ramana, ex-MP as the Telugu Desam Party candidate for Karimnagar by poll who incidentally Karimnagar district president.
He said that the party would highlight the failures, corruption, and development of backward areas, power situation and opportunistic politics of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). He alleged that the district which accounted for maximum number of suicides and starvation deaths among farmers and weavers. He faulted the Chandrasekhara Rao for failing to secure a Central Minister a package for mitigating weavers' hardships.
