Bomb explodes at Odeon Deluxe Theatre

Four persons injured

Hyderabad, May 7, 2006

A low intensity bomb exploded at the Odeon Deluxe Theatre near RTC Crossroads on Sunday night. In the blast, a woman was seriously injured while three persons received minor injuries. Police rushed to the spot immediately and the injured were admitted in the hospital. They suspect that two unidentified persons left a bag with explosives in the theatre and were not seen after the explosion.

The incident took place at in the balcony of the theatre around 10.20pm. The Additional Commissioner of Police, Chikkadapally, B.Sumathi Reddy said that three persons were taken into custody who are moving near the theatre in a suspicious manner for questioning.

Commissioner of Police, AK Mohanty and a team of police rushed to the theatre and pressed into service. Quick reaction teams, bomb detection and disposal squads, dog squads, forensic experts and personnel whose expertise is to track down ISI fingerprints.
