Consumers of power can check consumption status
Hyderabad, May 5, 2006
An Interned based customer care , metering and billing system will be launched for the benefit the power consumers of the twin cities. The central power Discom is all set to finalize a deal with the Netherlands based Engen Gap to set up the new system.
Discom officials said that this is a part of the reforms being introduced in the power sector and is intended to solve recurring meter problems. Discom has asked software providers to customize the software to suit the conditions prevailing in India.
The Chief Executive Officer of Enzen Gap, Sateesh Kumar said that data collection will be handled through hand held devices while billing and customer information services will be handled through net.
