Mishap at Sainikudu film shooting
Hyderabad, May 5, 2006An assistant cameraman died due to electrocution while making arrangements for shooting of a film 'Sainikudu' on Friday at Devaramgal village in Rangareddy district. The victim AB Kamalakar was an employee of Ramoji Film Society and taking part in shooting at Radhika Gardens. Sets of miniature buildings and lights were kept in a pool of water more than five feet. Nearly 25 members are in the pool set when the mishap happened.
The Sub Inspector Srinath Reddy said that the short-circuit was the reason for the accident. However they managed to escape by climbing, the assistant cameramen fell down in the pool and died. He was rushed to the Care Hospital where he was declared dead.
The Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce expressed shock and grief over the incident. The honorary secretaries of the Chamber said that the shooting scheduled on Saturday stands cancelled as a mark of respect to the deceased technician.
