Vemana University functions from next year

The Government has sanctioned Rs. 67 crores

The Yogi Vemana Viswa Vidyalayam will start functioning from the next academic year 2006-07. Speaking to media persons, SV University Registrar N. Prabhakara Rao said that the work for new building complexes and the infrastructure for the new university was going as per schedule.

The Government has sanctioned Rs. 67 crores and it will come up on 450 acres and will be completed in three stages. He said Yogi Vemana Viswa Vidyalayam woud be about 1200-student strength and eighty colleges in Kadapa district and some colleges in Anatapur and Nellore districts would be affiliated on the new university.
