5000 Rythu mithra groups to be supported
Vijayawada, May 30, 2006The District Collector, Navin Mittal presiding over the Krishna District Consultative Committee (KDCC) on Tuesday fixed crop loan targets of 1,170 crores to nationalized banks and rural banks. He said that the number of Self Helf Groups (SHG) should be increased from the existing 28,000 to 40,000 and the banks would disburse Rs.175 crores to them.
The District Collector said that 5000 Rythu mitra groups would be supported. He asked the bankers to disburse loans for purchase of tractors as there are only 10,900 as against the demand of 34,500.An Information Park and an apparel park would come up in the district in the proposed lad of 1500 acres for which the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid foundation.
NABARD AGM K.Lakshmi, lead bank manager K.Sivaprasada Rao, DGM of Indian Bank A. Ramachandra Rao, district consultative committee convenor M.Ramachandra Rao, DRDA project director N.Ravi Kumar, Joint director of Agriculture Jagadeeswar Reddy and District Industries Manager Panduranga Rao were among who attended the meeting.
