Relatives attacked Osmania General Hospital
Hyderabad, May 29, 2006Chandraiah, an employee of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) had on May 10 complained of headache and joined the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for treatment. As he did not return home, the family members lodged a complaint with the Habeebnagar Police on May 18 and later came to know that he died in OGH.
According to hospital sources, that he joined on May 11 and died due to pulmonary cardiac arrest on May 15 and the body was sent to mortuary. The relatives of the deceased demanded the hospital authorities to hand over the body. As they were told that the body was sent to mortuary, they went and to their dismay the body was not found.
Agitated over the missing of the body, the relatives ransacked the hospital furniture and windowpanes. The OGH Superintendent Dr.Ashok Kumar ordered an enquiry into the disappearance of the body from the mortuary. The relatives alleged that they might have sold the body to a private hospital.
