Rajahmundry - East Godavari, May 28, 2006In the second day of Telugu Desam Mahanadu on Sunday, it resolved to extend support the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government if a Bill in Parliament to amend the Constitution for providing five per cent reservation to Muslims in employment and education.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President, N Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the AICC plenary that was held at Hyderabad failed to discuss about this issue and the State Government also failed to present the case in Apex Court. He alleged that out of the Rs.500 crore crop insurance amount disbursed in the State in the current year, Rs.210 crores went to Pulivendula, Madakasira and Tadipatri Assembly constituencies.
Naidu also demanded market price for agriculture lands acquired by the Government for constructing irrigation projects. The meeting paid glowing tributes to the founder of the party, late NT Rama Rao on his 84th anniversary.
