Chandrababu Naidu confident of regaining power
Rajahmundry, May 27, 2006The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurating the three-day Mahanadu program at Arts College grounds. The Rajahmundry Mahanadu is the third mega program of the part ever since the party moved to Opposition. The programs began with the hoisting of the party flag. A blood donation camp was organized besides an exhibition on NT Rama Rao, former TDP President who steered the party to its glory. Speaking at the program, he said that the party would fight for the cause of the people. He said that the party cadre was not demoralized.
Chandrababu Naidu looked very confident of regaining power in the next elections and said that he would bring back the past glory of the party. He alleged that all major sectors such as agriculture, irrigation, health, employment and other sectors were neglected by the Congress-run Government. He said that TDP has worked hard to bring the power sector on track but the present Government has ruined it again.
Focusing on the problems of the farmers and the poor is the need of the hour, he said. The increase in the gold prices was such that the poor can never think of gold and have to switch to turmeric and yellow thread as a mangalasutra, he said. Speaking on the Central Government, he quoted that the Prime Minister is remote controlled by Ms. Sonia Gandhi. Treasurer Uma Madhava Reddy submitted the income-expenditure account of the party for the year ending March 2006. The total expenditure of the party is at 2.59 crores. As much as Rs. 1.71 crores was spent on publicity alone.
