Hyderabad, May 26, 2006
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Friday set a 24 hour dead line to the revenue officials to show evidence on the promised support to the three children who were orphaned by the death of their mother in excise personnel custody. She was taken into custody on the charges of selling illegal liquor.
The State Government announced Rs.2 lakhs as a relief but only paid Rs.45,000 to the family. The SHRC Chairman Justice Subhashan Reddy directed the officials of Revenue and Social departments to give the passbook details with the compensation given to the children and ordered issuing a house to the victim's family.
