Pistol and ammunition seized

Hyderabad, May 26, 2006

The Central Zone Task Force on Friday arrested a deserter of the Indian Army and seized a sophisticated pistol and ammunition from his possession. One, K.Pulla Reddy, a jawan in the Army procured the weapons from his friend who is also working in Army. He was caught with the pistol and 21 live rounds of 7.65mm bullets while he was trying to sell them at Old MLA quarters on Friday.

Task Force DCP G.Sudheer Babu said that the accused was in the army and was absent for the last couple of months. He was debt ridden and left with no option except to sell the same. The police also recovered some Army letter heads and a mobile phone.
