Emphasis to educate agriculturalists, and consumers of rural areas

Vijayawada, May 26, 2006

The Confederation of Andhra Pradesh Consumers Organizations (CAPCO) is organizing a South India Consumer conference in Vijayawada on May 28 said the chairman of CAPCO DN Kishore Gupta.

Speaking to press persons on Friday, he said that the main aim of the conference is to highlight the negative impact of the seventh Parliamentary Standing Committee on food, consumer affairs and public distribution of consumer welfare. He said the conference would focus on the various issues faced by the consumers in south India.

The conference would also educate the agriculturists and rural consumers about their rights and to empower consumers to fight about unfair trade practices. The High Court Judge I.Venkata Narayana will be the chief guest.
