Hyderabad, May 23, 2006
Lack of security for bank customers is evident in the Tuesday incident. One customer who withdrew a cash of Rs.2.5 lakhs from Karur Vysya Bank of Osmangunj branch was attacked by three youth to rob the cash with knifes. However, the customer managed to escape from them and rushed back into the branch premises with blood injuries. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital and later discharged after giving medial treatment.
According to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) of the Branch said that the incident happened outside the bank. Incidentally, there is no guard at the branch. The AGM said that security guards will be posted at all branches.
