On the occasion of the 15th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, the Governor Rameshwar Thakur paid tributes to the former Prime Minister. He said that Rajiv Gandhi strove for decentralization of powers to strengthen the Panchayat Raj System.

The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the aspirations of Rajiv Gandhi were being fulfilled by Sonia Gandhi. Rajya Sabha member V.Hanumantha Rao, and other Ministers and MLAs attended the function.
