High Court Judge pays fine

Judge says SI misbehaved at him

Hyderabad, May 2, 2006

DGP Swaranjit Sen replied cautiously on Tuesday when questioned by reporters about the episode of Monday night, where a judge of the AP High Court, Justice N Narasimha Reddy was fined for violation of the seat belt rue. Sources close to the judge have alleged that the police had misbehaved with him. Sources says that the Judge was driving his personal car at that time without his bodyguard at Chikkadapally.

The constable stopped him and pointed it out, the judge asked how much fine he had to pay. Despite the fact that the judge revealed his identity, the constable asked him to get down from the car and speak with the Sub Inspector on duty. The Judge went to the SI Ravikiran Reddy who also misbehaved with him.

The judge asked the SI to treat him like any other citizen. The SI issued challan on which he wrote 'refused to give father's name' and kept the judge for 15 minutes.
