39th Annual Meeting to begin in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, May 2, 2006
The Asian Development Bank Meet, which begins its 39th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, the city of Nizams is set to host its biggest international conference. The event is estimated to cost the Government about Rs.26 crores will be a huge affair with over 3000 delegates from 65 countries from around Asia coming the city for the next four days.
Every hotel, guest houses belonging to companies and banks, including HSBC's 400-room guesthouse and private individuals have been taken over to accommodate the delegates. Delegates and visitors are being issued Radio Frequency Identification cards by ADB to ensure there would be no gate crashing of the event.
India will be hosting an India Day at the meet on May 4, which is to be addressed by the Union Finance Minister Chidambaram, Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Monetk Singh Ahluwalia. Chidambaram had said on Sunday that India's growth story will be showcased and will be highlighted during India day.
