Hyderabad, May 18, 2006

In a historic event, the police nabbed the culprits who decamped the Alukkas in Hyderabad on May 16 with booty of diamond Jewellery worth Rs.6 crores were nabbed within 48 hours. According to the highly placed sources, the burglars Vinod and Srikanth Singh who burgled the Alukkas and looted 5kg of diamond studded Jewellery, 10 kg of diamond studded platinum Jewellery and 28 kg of gold Jewellery.

The Hyderabad police alerted the Mumbai counterparts after the incident took place and the crime branch of Mumbai activated the informants. Vinod was released on bail on 25th of this month from a Mumbai jail. He, having selected the target landed in Hyderabad on May 8 and stayed in Royal Palace. He laid a plan of operation and executed the same.

The Mumbai police recovered the entire Jewellery stolen by the duo. The Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy announced cash rewards of Rs.10 lakhs each to Mumbai and Hyderabad Police.
