Rs. 10 crores of Diamonds and Jewellery stolen
Hyderabad, May 16, 2006In a major decoity, the burglars broke into the Jewellery store, Alukkas, owned by a Dubai based Joy Alukkas group which was opened it branch at Panjagutta, a month ago decamped diamonds and Jewellery worth Rs.10 crores in the wee hours of Tuesday. The burglary came to light when the shop opened at about 10.30am. The builder owner lodged a complaint with the police. The shop is located in the fourth floor and burglars gained entry by jumping on the top floor of this four storied building from a building under construction on its rear, suspects the police.
According to police sources, the culprits switched off the lights as they entered the shop. The CCTVs could capture only blurred images as the culprits used flash lights to find their way into the showroom. The CLUES team which visited the spot found several finger prints. The Police Commissioner, AK Mohanty and top officials visited the scene. Based on the newspaper found at the scene, they are suspecting the involvement of Gujarati Gangs.

The group which has more than 1 lakh designs with a number of own brands of Jewellery. It has 13 show rooms in India. According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner, AK Mohanty, it was a well planned operation and executed as desired. Additional commissioner (Crimes) Rajiv Trivedi said that Forensic experts said only after ascertaining which software was used in the CCTVs, they would be able to tell whether the blurred images could be developed or not.
