Milk to cost Rs.1 more per litre

Visakhapatnam, May 13, 2006

According to a press release by the Visakha Dairy, the milk price is increased with effect from May 16 by Rs.1 per litre. A sachet of milk (500 ml) that used to cost Rs.7.50 will now cost Rs.8 and the price of skim milk (500 ml) has been increased top Rs. 6.50.

The release said that it is inevitable to increase the cost of milk because of the growing production cost and the price payable to the farmers.
