Paper production came to a halt

Workers are on strike

Adilabad, May 10, 2006

The paper production came to halt at Sirpur Paper Mills as the workers went on strike. It is learnt that the mill suffered a loss of Rs.70 lakhs on account of strike. The management warned the workers that lockout will be declared if they fail to turn to duties. The working are on agitating demanding payment of bonus from the profits made possible with the installation of the seventh paper machine. The Deputy General Manager, Gurunatha Rao said that they have sent proposals to the Labour department on the issue.
