Lendings to India could be scaled up
Hyderabad, March 9, 2006
Nearly 30 Finance and Planning Ministers and top-officials across Asia will be among the 3000 delegates attending the prestigious 39th General Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to held from May 3 to 6, 2006. The meeting in Hyderabad assumes significance in the light of the ADB's plans to scale up lending to India from an average of around $1.24 billion in recent years to around $2.65 billion by 2008.
ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda accompanied by a high-level delegation of the bank visited the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, the venue of the annual general meeting on Thursday and reviewed the arrangements. This is the second mega event after the Pravas Bharatiya Divas that Hyderabad will be hosting in recent times.
