SI arrested in a cheating case
Hyderabad, March 28, 2006
The Saifabad Traffic Police Station Sub-Inspector Niranjan Reddy was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a cheating case. The case was booked against him in February last when was working as Detective SI with Banjara Hills Police. A businessperson Prakash Reddy charged that he had taken a hand loan of Rs.15 lakhs from him but never returned.
The businessperson earlier approached him in connection with a case he had got referred through the court. Niranjan Reddy said he would help the businessperson and secured the huge amount. The West Zone DP Amit Garg said despite reminders, the SI failed to return the amount and following a complaint by the businessperson, a criminal case was booked against the officer.
