Four Lakhs stolen from ICIC bank

Gangsters divert attention of cashier

Hyderabad, March 28, 2006

A gang stole Rs.4 lakhs cash from a branch of the ICICI Bank in Panjagutta police station limits. The theft took place on Saturday and officials noticed that cash was missing on Sunday. On Monday, while reviewing tapes of the close circuit cameras in the branch, they realized that thieves had stolen the cash. The attention diversion gang observed the working of the staff.

On Saturday around 7.45pm, the gang diverted the attention of the staff. One of them was talking to the cashier and other with another person. One of the gangsters entered the cabin and took away Rs.4 lakhs from the cash drawer according to police sources. The Bank Manger lodged a complaint. The Additional Commissioner of Police, (Crime) Rajeev Trivedi visited the Bank and thieves are caught on CCTV. Their pictures were prepared and hunt for them began.
