Shanta Sinha gives donation to MV Foundation
Hyderabad, March 26, 2006
Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Shanta Sinha on Sunday received the Mahila Abhyudaya award instituted by the Malladi Subbamma Trust for octogenarian social worker and former Karnataka Governor VS Rama Devi at a function.
After receiving the award and cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, the Professor of Political Science at University of Hyderabad announced that she was donating it to the M.V.Foundation of which she is the trustee. Ms. Subamma recalled Dr.Shanta Sinhas work in liberating three lakh child laborers in 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh and putting them to school.
