Policemen repatriating process begins

Hyderabad, March 24, 2006

Even as the implementation of GO 610 is continuing, the State Government on Friday issued a memo for repatriating nearly 2938 police personnel working in Hyderabad back to their local areas. Among those identified for repatriation, 2321 are in the civil category up to the rank of assistant sub inspector. They include 2074 constables, 230 head constables and one assistant sub inspector while the rest from Armed Reserved category.

It is understood that the Government is likely to issue another memo for transferring of Sub Inspectors and Inspectors. However, the memo said that the shifting should be made in a phased manner but fixed deadline as March 2007 for completing the exercise. A senior Home Department official said that already 60 non-local policemen had already been repatriated.
