Temples Protection Committee demands survey
Hyderabad, March 23, 2006
Several Peethadhipathis and religious leaders at different levels on Thursday staged a protest near Indira Park on Thursday demanding an end to diversion of funds of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams.
The Peethadipathis who got together under the banner of the Temples Protection Committee demanded a survey listing and computerization of the details pertaining to properties owned by the estimated 34,000 odd temples in the State and said a firm 'no' to the ropeway project in Tirumala. The leaders said that only one thousand temples were maintained well while the other are not.
