Disproportionate assets worth Rs 40 lakhs identified

Hyderabad, March 22, 2006

The Anti Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs.40 lakhs amassed by Additional Superintendent of Police of Kakinada Anjuri Radha during simultaneous raids conducted on her and relative houses in Vijayawada, Nellore and Kakinada.

The assets included nine houses at Nellore and two at Shamshabad, bank balance worth Rs2.75 lakhs and promissory note worth Rs.50,000. In another case, officials' unearthed assets worth Rs.25 lakhs amassed by junior inspector of Commercial Tax Department in Srikakulam District M.Gandhi Krishna during separate raids conducted at four places. A junior assistant of Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment in Hyderabad MSR Prasad was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.1000.
