Four cops suspended in fake ECNR certificates

Immigiration Dept. held responsible

Four immigration department policemen including an inspector and three sub inspectors who figured in the case of fake ECNR certificates were suspended on Tuesday. Special branch inspector V.Ramana and Sub Inspectors were suspended for allegedly clearing 15 women with fake ECNR certificates to board a Kuwait bound flight.

The women were arrested for possession of fake ECNR under the charges of cheating and impersonation. The women were waiting to board the aircraft when an anonymous caller tipped off senior officials of the special branch about them.
