IT Department officials raids hotel
Hyderabad, March 17, 2006Acting on a tip off, Income Tax Department officials raided in Hotel Sara International and apprehended Sabir Ali Khan and Vinay Gaur both from Delhi and seized Rs.25 lakhs from them. It is learnt that two more persons are at large. Based on the information from them, the leader RP Mallik and his associate SM Khan were lodged in another hotel and by the time the officials went to Anmol International, the room lay empty.
Further interrogation of the duo revealed that Mallik had come to City to file nominations for the Rajya Sabha and the purpose of the visit, the money, local contacts and political affiliations remained mystery. IT Director General (Investigations) JL Giridhar announced the details, later in the evening.
