Hyderabad, March 16, 2006

The Osmania University bandh call given by the Telangana Rashtra Vidyarthi Sangham on Thursday against the alleged manhandling of some teachers and intellectuals by the police during Holi celebrations was total. Traffic came to a standstill at Tarnaka for half an hour as they sat in dharna on the road. Though the procession was peaceful, some activists attacked an RTC bus breaking its windowpane. However, the police ensured that there was no more damage. The leaders relented only after learning of the suspension of the police officials from Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy
