Expressway aimed at faster connectivity to International Airport
Hyderabad, March 15, 2006
The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy will lay the foundation stone on Thursday for the 11.5 km elevated expressway from Mehdipatnam to the International Airport at Shamshabad. It is aimed at providing faster connectivity from the city. The project mooted by GMR Group that submitted the proposal for the expressway along with the Detailed Project Report and requested the Government to evaluate it in the Swiss challenge mode.
The Government accepted it as the suo motu proposal and appointed HUDA as the nodal agency to evaluate the proposal. HUDA Chief Engineer said the notification for the Rs.600 crore project would be issued on Thursday.
