Rare idols confiscated

Idols worth Rs. 40 Lakhs confiscated

Guntur, March 14, 2006

The Guntur District Police confiscated three idols of Bhoodevi, Lord Rama ad Lakshmana estimated to be one hundred years old in the city on Tuesday. While Bhoodevi idol is made of panchaloha, the other two are made of metals. Superintendent of Police B.Sivadhar Reddy said that the three idols were estimated to cost Rs.40 lakhs in the international market.
