Patient death creates trouble at Apollo Hospital

Relatives damages hospital glass and furniture

Hyderabad, March 12, 2006

The death of a patient at Apollo Hospital in Jubliee Hills on Sunday triggered protests with his relatives going on a rampage damaging glass panes and furniture on the hospital premises. The police said one Mr.Mohan Reddy from Ranga Reddy district suffered serious head injuries after he met with an accident on February 27.

His relatives admitted him to the Gandhi Hospital and later shifted to Apollo on the following day as his condition turns to be critical. On Sunday afternoon, the doctors announced that the patient died while undergoing treatment. The trouble broke as the hospital authorities refused to hand over the body to the relatives as it is a medico legal case.
