Rajahmundry - East Godavari, June 9, 2006

Asia's tallest Sri Ranganatha Swami idol of 26 feet is going to be installed in Sri Asta Lakshmi Sahita Sri Lakshminarayana Swamy temple premises on June 14. The temple priest Sriman Panchangam Venkata Rangacharyulu, Trust Board Chairman G.Srinivasulu and other members said in a press conference on Friday.

In the press conference, they said that there are two popular 'Periya Perumal Sriranganatha Swami temples in India, the one at Srirangam of Tamil Nadu (16 feet) and the second one is at Nellore Sri Talpagiri Ranganatha Swami.

The Chief Priest said that 'Prana Pratist' of the idol will be done in the presence of Sri Sri Tridandi Sriranga Ranabyha Hetar Swamy and wih the blessings from Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Jayndra Saraswati, Sri Sri Tridandi China Srimannarayana Ramajuja Jeyar and Sri Tridandi Ahobila Ramanuja Jeyar Swami.
