Screening of The Da Vinci Code cancelled
Hyderabad, June 23, 2006
The Prasad Imax Theatre was attacked by Christian groups on Friday, where the controversial film 'The Da Vinci Code' was to be released . The angry protesters arrived at the theatre an hour before the scheduled time and raised slogans against the film and broke the window pans of the ticket counter.
In this context, the Public Relations Manager of multiplex Chris Kishen said that they have cancelled the screening of the film and the same was displayed in the morning. Based on the complaint, the Saifabad police booked a case.
The president of United Front for Dalit Christian Rights G.Alfred said that the incident only reflected the growing resentment against the film.
