Two NCL executives kidnapped

Vijayawada, June 20, 2006

Two executives of Nagarjuna Cements Limited (NCL) Kadimpohavaram site were kidnapped from the site late on Monday night. According to sources, the kidnappers came in a Tata Sumo and opened fire in air to threaten the workers before abutting the two executives. The executives are VV Rama Raju (General Manager) and Galib Saheb (Personnel Officer).

According to the version of the workers on the spot, four unidentified youth in the age group of 20 to 25 came to the factory site and picked them while they were in discussion. When the workers tried to come to the rescue, they opened two rounds of fire in the air and threatened not to come to them. It is learnt that the vehicle left towards Katubadivaripalem and took Khammam route.

The police reached the spot and found a revolver and a bullet. Eluru rang DIG CV Anand convened an urgent meeting with the district police officials. However, the Superintended of Police, Murugesh Kumar Singh said that there were no communication from the kidnappers. According NCL management, the kidnappers called them on Tuesday morning and demanded huge money to release the executives.
