Hyderabad, June 20, 2006

The Andhra Pradesh State Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has posted a net profit of Rs. 95.48 crores in the first two months of the financial year 2006-07 against a loss of Rs.5.97 crores in the corresponding period of last year.

The Corporation registered improvements in all operational parameters in the fiscal ended March 31 compared to the last year. The occupancy ration went up to 65 percent. The Vice Chairman and Managing Director MV Krishna Rao said that all this has been possible with the maximum utilization of resources and greater participation from 1.17 lakh workforce.
